Books Tag pulak

Tag, you are it. So, let’s play then.

Along tagged me. I like books so here goes…

1) Total number of books I’ve owned:
Uncountable if you mean from the moment I can read. My old house has a special room which housed a library with Reader’s Digest, encyclopaedia, magazines, Shakespeare’s, Pak Pandir and Mak Andeh moral story books, A. Samad Said (correct name?) and heck, just about anything. I had been reading them since I was about 6 years old and by 12 years old, I had read Harrold Robbins and Jacqueline Sussan (can’t spell their names either) like Hollywood Wives, Hollywood Husbands and all those saucy tales. My mind was so exposed to cerita lucah and yet, I turned out ok, no?

I was a librarian since Standard Three because I wanted to read all the books before I even catalogued them.

2) The last book I bought:
I bought 6 books at one go recently. MPH has a sale. Can’t remember their titles. Related to child abuse, parenting in a gangsterism era and some heavy stuff.

3) The last book I read
C. S. Lewis – Mere Christianity
Thanks to Mrs. B for recommending this book to me. C.S. Lewis has taken me on a journey from a non-believer (him, not me) to a Christian. The book was very hard to comprehend at first because this old man certainly goes very deep and confused the ignorant and simple-minded me. Through perseverance, I finally got a hang of it only at the middle of the book.

4) 5 books that mean a lot to me
a) Enid Blyton – Secret Island
I wish I can run away from home to a secret island (when I was small la, not now).

b) Max Lucado series (three books come in one hard cover, so I can’t remember all the titles)

c) Zig Ziglar book on parenting (also cannot remember exact title, butt lazy to move to bookshelf to check) Orange cover, I highly recommend to all non-Muslim parents.

d) Death and Dying by Dr. Elisabeth Kubler – This book is loaned to me by Prof. Lucy Lum because she has confidence in me to write our Malaysian version on dealing with death and dying. ATM, I chickened out, mid way.

e) Ish, all those are related to Christianity and morbid issues, no? So, does The Da Vince Code counts? I love that FICTION. It is the best FICTION I have read in a long time.

5) Tag 5 people and have them fill this out on their blogs.

Simon (he said he read a lot on his blog)
Fishtail (do you all know he wrote several books?)
Lrong (sending this to Japan and back)
Mama22beas (must pass the baton to the moms)
S-Kay (a young adult instead)
