Break and why I don’t like KL

FIRST THE NEWS…..Whee!!!! I won, I won, I won!!!!! I won an award from JoeC. The Fastest Blogger Award. Hehehehe, JoeC, thank you very much for the honour.

Here’s what JoeC’s describe 5xmom, the blog:

5xmom or otherwise known as Lilian, the fastest blogger in town. She is a very observant person and takes blogging with ease. Mind that Lilian is not from the MTV generation. A delightful read at anytime of the day.

It is an honour to be placed along with all my buddies bloggers.

And another news…

iceice

LiewCF is coming to town. So, Penang bloggers and netizens, drop by Ice Ice Baby this Sunday at 3pm! If I am back to Penang, I sure will not miss this chance to meet the guy whom (in my opinions) had helped many of us to start earning revenue through blogging. Go to Lucia’s blog for the direction and persons attending. Bring your laptop ‘cos got wi-fi.

I am off to KL, again! Yikes, I do not like KL because:

1) The classified ads section in the newspapers in KL is thicker than the main news section in Penang;

2) The number of second hand cars for sale in KL are probably more all the cars on Penang island;

3) A bowl of noodle in KL can buy my whole family’s meal in Penang;

4) The cost of one child’s clothes is equivalent to the costs of all my four sons’ clothes;

5) The 8-digits phone numbers are too difficult for me to remember;

6) I am too freak out to drive on KL roads;

7) We can get lost again and again even if we drive on the same stretch of road on every trip to KL;

8) There is only cloudy, hazy or rainy days in KL;

9) Eating hotel buffet breakfast every morning can gives me depression (give me Penang economy char bee hoon costing 80 sens anytime!);

10) The cost of car parking in KLCC usually makes my atm go KNNCCBwhothehellcanstayinklwithparkingfeeslikethese!

11) I can’t wear selipar and t-shirt cap pagoda in KL.

12) (add yours)

The only reason I go to KL is because it is easier to hang a ‘Please make-up room’ sign than to actually make-up room. Atm has work there so it is not fun to be home alone with 4 kids.

I don’t know when I am coming back. Until then, ta ta!

  3. Do not drive in KL unless you know the roads. It’s more economical to take a taxi. You save time, headache and parking. Food sucks … if you’re coming from Penang 😛

  4. 12) too many pplz in a very small plcz.
    13) no peaceful sea viewz.
    14) no penang biskut…. the big onez.
    15) cannot see any penang lengluiz.

  5. thanks a heap for putting up the news on the meet this sunday, lilian. i really hope to see you there.

    eh? i see the sign ‘ice ice baby drink without nipple’… that’s funny! so if we want nipple, cannot meh? 😉

    it’s true you are a fast blogger. not only that but most number of posts maybe. one day sometimes see 3 or 4 posts! how many posts have you put up so far? there’s a mile high club in PPS for those with more than 1000 posts. i think you might have 2000 posts!

    hey i like that alternative xmas song by max.

  6. “Dun know how long you’re gonna be there, huh”. If i bug hubby to go kl also, then mebbe we can join u, lolz. But still can blog there, rite? Bought ur laptop ledi?

  7. Frankly speaking, KL is a boring place. Even Bangkok is cheaper, cleaner and more beautiful girl than KL. Don’t worry, Penang is slowly become as messy as KL, so in future you will not cuss KL that much. LOL.

  8. Honestly, I like K.L more than any other cities in MALAYSIA, even though there are many bad points about K.L (OR some of us say “Sucks”!).

    For me(personally), K.L is more CONVENIENT, I can easily get whatever latest & “IN” things/info/news in the shortest time (in Malaysia).

    There are many BANKS, the RHB bank in KLCC opens 7 days a week, longer business hours, more well-trained/”sing muk” staffs. The best/biggest/advanced HSBC branch in Malaysia.

    Many big SHOPPING MALLS (for lepak/pleasure), GOVERNMENT DEPARMENTS/OFFICES(for serious/troublesome/headache things).

    More opportunities(for many purposes),advanced, always stay ahead!

  9. Buffet breakfast?? Yum, Yum!! I dun mind KL if…

    1) I’m staying in those posh condos in the Golden Triangle…
    2) Every mall is within walking distance..
    3) I got unlimited cash to spend and splurge…
    4) I get Nando’s Peri Peri chicken everyday!! (I fell in love with this !!!)

    Enjoy yourself!!! LOL

  10. Have to agree on most of the points. What I hate the most are the massive traffic jams. However, look forward to going back everyweek because my other half and daughter stays there Actually I guess not actually in KL – in PJ.

  11. Lin Peh, as one orgyrinal KL people, hereby representing the KL to tell you KL actually veli the nice one and your condemn is therefore not valid because:

    10) The cost of car parking in KLCC usually makes my atm go KNNCCB who the hell can stay in kl with parking fees like these!
    (Park road side and throw away summon. They won’t come catch one! LOL)

    3) A bowl of noodle in KL can buy my whole family’s meal in Penang

    9) Eating hotel buffet breakfast every morning can gives me depression (give me Penang economy char bee hoon costing 80 sens anytime!);

  15. As a proud KLites..i shud do my duty n defend my beloved KL. So here it is…(no pun intended yah)

    1) KL roads…althought there’s alot but there are many way around it.cant get lost wan.
    2) To freak out to drive in KL? I think Kl drivers are more ‘nicer’ and ‘apologetic’. Stayed in penang for 8months…i think i learned my ‘aggresive driving’ skill from it.
    2) Haiyah..every1 know how expensive KlCC parking la…go to other malls. Midvalley, 1utama – RM1 per entry onli la. (haiyoh..still remember parked in Komtar n kena pay RM11! Kanasai betul!)
    3) U DUN HAVE to pay to use public toilets in the malls in KL. (Best!)
    4)We dun hv tsunami here.
    5) Prices..where got so high la..u come KL,u buy Gucci kids wan ah?
    6) Hawker foods..ok,penang better. But KL got more varieties 🙂
    7)Like Lin Peh said…can buy 2set of 4D with KL numbers lor…hahaha

    KL Hidup!!!

  16. I’m a KL-ite and damn proud of it.Yeah there are some things that are not quite nice but its the city to be!!! they don’t call it KAY- HELL for nothing. Beats Penang in terms of quality of life….IMHO…food wise yeah Penang beats us hands down….Sorry lah…I don’t like penang…What’s with you Penangites..patriotic to the max…ok..don’t flame….my mum is also a penangite…but hey…since I’m living here almost all my life…I say KL Rules…on behalf of all Kl-ites Welcome to OUR TERRITORY Lilian..lol… Enjoy your stay!

  17. Perhaps Lilian, what my old folks said was really true.

    They said:” Tak Kenal Maka Tak Cinta… ”

    Perhaps when you get to know more about KL and PJ you would start to love these places like I do.

    I think that was how I fall in love with Penang and Ipoh too 🙂

    But the main reason i think is related to the food and environment 🙂 And of course the people !!
