You know the song, Turning Japanese? (song on Bolt) Shucks, never mind, most of you probably aren’t born yet. It is a catchy song from the 80s. Part of the lyrics :
I’ve got your picture, got your picture
I’d like a million of ’em over myself
I want a doctor to take your picture
So I can look at you from inside as well
You’ve got me turning up, I’m turning down, I’m turning in, and I’m turning ’round
I’m turning Japanese, I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so
Turning Japanese, I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so
Turning Japanese, I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so
Turning Japanese, I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so
No sex,
No drugs,
No wine,
No women,
No fun,
No sin,
No you-
No wonder it’s dark.
Everyone around me is a total stranger,
Everyone avoids me like a psyched lone ranger.
Everyone.
Thats why I’m turning Japanese,
I think I’m turning Japanese,
I really think so.
I don’t know why but the song keeps toinking in my head. Except that I am not turning Japanese but vegetarian. In the music video, the singer dressed up as a geisha with white face. I am now green.
Argggh….the steak is calling me. The crispy roasted pork is calling me. The prawns and cockles in the curry mee. The spare ribs. Dim sums……
Helppppppp!!!!!!!
Ahhh…better now.
I am not claiming to be holey-moley. I just want to test how much willpower I have. I have not eaten a single animal nor swallow anything un-vegetarian except eggs from the chicken. 😉 (vege food I had) Been doing this since errm…let’s see Wednesday. I am so gung-ho over this new hobby, yeah it is a hobby only.
*chewing nails to last another day and another day and another day.
Ptttuuuii….nails are not vegetarian, pttuuuiiii….
Next life, remind me not to be a monk. I want to eat crabs, oysters, curry fish head, medium rare steaks, salted fish, dimsums filled with prawns……Please name a few more foods to make me drool?
Laksa…. very sour that type.
Aiyoh! Same here! Been vegetarian since Wednesday. Been doing this over the years but i still cannot get used to it. Don’t worry, ma’am, at the end of Lent – you will feel so ‘holy’ :-))

Hi there,
You can try out the Coffee Bean’s Caesar Sald and the Stir Fried Soba at Secret Receipe for nice Vege food. Tell them to hold the chicken.
Its time to try out a whole bunch of soups too for your Vegetarian stint. Broccoli soup, asparagus, tomato, ABC, etc etc. Do give me the receipe when you’ve tried them out! 🙂

– Slice few century eggs
– Cut capsicum to small cube shapes (like mobile phone keypad size)
– put the sliced century eggs on top
– Pour a bit of (good)soya sauce (fish paste sauce even better). Or experiment with other sauce .
– Put sliced red chili(remove seeds)for better presentation.
