  1. Get a better one! Get the Pentium D 3.2 or 3.4! I used Pentium D 3.4 (the fastest available in the market) and i like it!

    You didn’t mention about RAM. This is important! Get 1GB of DDR2! I recomend not to use DDR.

    wait after march then buy your PC. the P4 is obsolete already and in 2 months time there will be price cuts on Intel CPU prices. 7600GS is really castrated. Get at least the 7600GT. It is probably 100 ringgit more. Here’s what I would recommend if you REALLY need a new PC right now.

    Rather than the intel P4 2.8 get the AMD A64 3800+ X2, get the 7600GT rather than GS version and 320 GB hard disk. It will be faster than that config.

    Play games right? Make sure your LCD Monitor refresh fast enuf, else u regret later.

  9. Get an AMD processor instead of a Intel…
    Although AMD is some what less “popular” it has won over Intel in many performance tests…better…

    Mama BoK – Yeah, I heard about AMD too. But I used to own an Athlon long time ago, I know they are improved now, but still the experience from the last time sort of turned me off.

    Muffin – Previously, my Athlon gave me tonnes of problems and after that, I am still wary of it.

    keropokman – My kids got their own DRT (dunno what monitor lah) so mine is not so much gaming lah. I where got time to sit down play games ler. Later my whole house upside down.

    both those config will run circles around the one that you specified.

    and no Core 2 Duo is not the same as the dual Core.. Core 2 Duo starts from E6300 but the Dual Core one is the old Pentium 4.. Runs hot and slow.

  15. Nice spec. This will save you time on photo processing.. You don’t need the bleeding edge stuff, unless money growth on tree 😉

    AMD Athlon last time memang got some bugs…but this new one better adi…
    I got the latest price list from PC Depot…cheap cheap stuff…no I don’t work for them but can send to u if u want so u can compare the price.
