When it rains the whole day, I wish there is sun. When it is too hot, I wish it rains the whole day.
My eldest son has graduated from his P Licence probation. He started his motorbike lesson right on his 16th birthday. Lucky, my #2 son doesn’t seem incline to ride a bike. I am now so paranoid. If the #1 son phoned home when he is outside, my first thought is, “Hah…now who has he bumped into?” I cannot help it, he has crashed the car, the bike and himself countless times. Thank God, thank his guardian angel, my late mother for making sure that he was always fine and safe.
I like this Rapid Penang bus sign. It makes a lot of sense to cut down on driving. But try telling it to those parents who jammed the whole blardy effing road every single day. The worst is the Penang Chinese Girls High School where Jalan Gottlieb is. KNN, it is one of the premier school and hence has some of the richest students. So, every single student has a mother, father, driver etc to drop one single student. Imagine the horror of passing there? I always get caught in the afternoon jam when I am driving home.
I went to Little India and had banana leave rice for lunch. When I got home, I was so sleepy, I slept for three hours straight. They drugged me! With opium. Nice…
When I was in Little India, I found this shop selling prayers paraphernalia. Lord Jesus and Lord Ganesh, side by side. Which reminds me about Mt. Miriam Hospital. They have all the major faiths encouraging words on their walls hanging. There is one from Mahatma Gandhi too. “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” And I read and try to remember that every day when I stepped into the lobby. Actually, I like this quote from Mahatma Gandhi, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” and I try to remember this too.
Another quote from Gandhi, “Religions are different roads converging to the same point. What does it matter that we take different road, so long as we reach the same goal.”
true, very true… your last paragraph… there’s a small mosque somewhere in indonesia, which has praying items for christian. when asked, the person in charge says ‘ on friday we use the place, on sunday the christian will use the place’.
I like the last quote. Religions are all the different route converging to the same point.

Thanks for sharing some of Gandhi’s wise words. I have always admired his quotes, especially those on religion, and spirituality. Here’s is one my favorite ones and I have it written on my blog sidebar.
“I worship God as Truth only. I have not yet found Him, but I am seeking after Him. I am prepared to sacrifice the things dearest to me in pursuit of this quest. Even if the sacrifice demanded my very life, I hope I may be prepared to give it”
