HOI! Khidmat Negara, update your website lah!

My blog at chanlilian.net is not the place to semak PLKN lah. But the main site is not working and all the traffic are coming to my site with lots of enquiries. No wonder lah my traffic skyrocket (not that I earn any money but taxing on my server only).

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 Ogos (Bernama) — Pengerusi Majlis Latihan Khidmat Negara (MLKN) Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye berkata semakan keputusan calon terpilih menjalani Program Latihan Khidmat Negara (PLKN) pada tahun depan boleh dilakukan mulai 13 Ogos ini melalui tiga cara termasuk melalui laman web. Para pelatih juga boleh membuat semakan melalui khidmat pesanan ringkas (SMS) dan talian hotline Jabatan Latihan Khidmat Negara (JLKN), katanya kepada pemberita selepas melancarkan program pemilihan berkomputer pelatih PLKN siri kelima 2008 di sini hari ini.

Beliau berkata semakan dalam talian boleh dibuat melalui laman web www.khidmatnegara.gov.my, semakan SMS pula boleh dihantar kepada 33995 dan semakan melalui talian Hotline JLKN boleh dibuat melalui nombor telefon 03-26813446, 03-26873423, 03-26873410 dan 03-26873424.

Lee berkata selain itu, semakan juga boleh dibuat melalui iklan suratkhabar tetapi hanya diadakan pada Oktober depan.

“Melalui iklan suratkhabar, pelatih boleh mengetahui kumpulan dan tempat mereka akan mengikuti program itu,” katanya.

Beliau berkata seramai 110,000 daripada 484,909 remaja yang lahir pada 1990 dipilih untuk menyertai PLKN pada tahun depan, iaitu pertambahan sebanyak 10,000 orang berbanding tahun lepas.

Lee berkata daripada jumlah itu, seramai 66,000 terdiri daripada bumiputera, 30,800 Cina, seramai 11,000 India dan 2,200 orang terdiri daripada kaum-kaum lain.

Langkah ini diambil bagi memberi sebanyak mungkin peluang kepada mereka yang berumur 18 tahun ke atas mengikuti latihan selama tiga bulan itu.

The Khidmat Negara website never update. All get 404 error. Ish, simple website also cannot maintain properly, how to run a death camp for our children lah? So, as a good citizen, I have added the instructions on my Semak PLKN page (which incidentally is on page one for most keywords). See? Saya rakyat prihatin.

By the way, I wonder if the more educated and vocal parents are going to do something to the deaths in the NS or are we all just going to forget about all those young people who died there and pretend we are not involved? My eldest son wasn’t selected. Next year, it will be my second son’s turn to play the Russian Roulette. I heard some parents just need to enrol their children in college and these children can skip NS? Correct?

  1. Send them to Australia and meet up with Wuching. If they kena Russian roulette when they’re overseas, when they come back they’ll have to join the camp, too.

    But then you can re-enroll to college/Uni, pay around a few hundred bucks, get the student card and get away with it. I’m not sure for how long though. Maybe, forever?

    alexallied – I no worries. My #2 son no previous health problems (unlike the eldest who is prone to fall sick) so go or not, never mind. But I prefer to stuff him in college than go lah.
